A travel writer who visited South Africa recently has commented on the memorable experiences he had.

Doug McMullen, writing for the Canwest News Service, visited Cape Town and Johannesburg for a holiday with his wife and young son and said that he thoroughly enjoyed it.

“There was lots we enjoyed in and around the city, like riding the cableway to the top of Table Mountain and spending time on the beach at Camps Bay,” he wrote.

Mr McMullen added that a visit to Stellenbosch’s Cheetah Outreach centre is well worth the time, as it allows visitors to see animals raised in captivity, as well as being able to stroke some of the tamer ones.

In addition, the family drove to Khwa ttu, north of Cape Town, to see the San bushmen and to learn how to track animals in the traditional manner.

Anyone wishing to follow in the McCullen family’s footsteps and book flights to South Africa will be pleased to know that the country has an excellent airport infrastructure, with the three main hubs being Johannesburg International, Cape Town International and Durban International.
