Holidays to Johannesburg have been recommended to anyone looking for somewhere with plenty to do by one news provider.

CNN states that not only does the South African city offer cultural must-sees like the Apartheid Museum and Lion Park, but there are a number of festivals and events that attract holidaymakers every year.

One such festival is Coca Cola Fest, which occurs every year in April and which sees big name bands from all over the world perform.

Top groups this year are Oasis and Snow Patrol.

“Singing along to your favourite bands in guaranteed sunshine is always a winning combination,” states CNN.

Meanwhile, an earlier article from the same news provider suggested that people taking holidays to Johannesburg should use minibus tours to get around the city, since the guides can offer local insight into culture and history that would not be available otherwise.

Possible tours include a visit to the Lion Park, a small nature reserve some 25 kilometres from Johannesburg.
