Cape Town has been named as the host town for this year’s Samsung Africa forum.

Cape Town has announced it is to be the host of the Samsung Africa Forum 2012.

The city will be showcasing the latest designs to be offered by the electronics company, with the four-day event held to debut some of the newest designs to buyers, the media and consumers alike, Bizcommunity.com reported.

It is set to take place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from March 22nd to 25th, with the final day of the show opened to members of the public to the Samsung Connect Cape Town event, which will allow them to try out the products for themselves.

George Ferreira, vice president and chief operating officer of Samsung Electronics Africa, said the company was excited to show off its new designs.

“The digital age has brought revolutionary change – and opportunity – to African business and Samsung as a result has responded with advanced technologies, competitive products and constant innovation to meet this change,” Mr Ferreira added.

Cape Town hosts a diverse number of events this year, with the city soon set to see performances from members of the English National Ballet.
