Cape Town was ranked in second place in a list of the world’s top cities by Conde Nast Traveller.

Cape Town has been named as one of the best cities in the whole world by respected publication in the travel industry.

The South African city featured in Conde Nast Traveller’s Reader’s Choice Awards, where it was voted into second place.

Charleston in the US was the only destination to finish higher, while the Mother City beat destinations such as Florence in Italy.

The list was compiled by looking at a city’s composite appeal, which is calculated by averaging scores from Atmosphere and Ambience, Culture and Sites, Friendliness, Lodging, Restaurants and Shopping categories.

People booking flights to Cape Town for the southern hemisphere summer are assured of more than just great weather.

The Western Cape city has a number of great vineyards, a thriving gourmet scene and is the ideal place to see spectacular wildlife species, both on land and in the sea.

All of this with the picturesque backdrop of Table Mountain.
