 Old Airport Road Food Centre

Highly popular in the country, the Old Airport Road Food Centre is a wallet-friendly eating venue where people can enjoy local favourites such as prawn noodles, lor mee, kway chap, rojak and soya bean curd. The number of food stalls here is higher compared to any other place in the region. Some of the stalls have been present here since the 1970s.  A few well-liked brands include the Lao Ban Soya Bean Curd, Nam Sing Hokkien Mee and Toa Payoh Rojak. Those wishing to have an authentic Singaporean cuisine must visit this spot.

Chinatown Complex Food Centre

Situated in the main area of Chinatown, the Chinatown Complex Food Centre is an apt point for individuals wanting to enjoy a traditional dish at low rates. Probably the largest hawker centre in the country, this centre houses 260 food stalls. Local dishes such as chilli crab, BBQ stingray, Hokkien mee and bak kut teh can be tasted. Several stalls have signs in English, allowing foreigners to order food with no trouble. Food from stalls such as Zhao Ji Clay Pot Rice, Heng Ji Chicken Rice and The Good Beer Company should be tried for sure!

Maxwell Food Centre

Maxwell Food Centre is home to many famous stalls. One of them is the Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice stall, which serves the best chicken rice in Singapore. Stores like Zhen Zhen Porridge, China Street Fritters, Marina South Delicious Food can be considered too!  Most of the stalls have long queues, but they are worth the wait. Pisang goring is an awesome snack that must be not be missed.

Zion Riverside Food Centre

Enticing taste-buds, the Zion Riverside Food Centre is a triangular hawker centre that sells items such as Fried kway teow, Chicken rice, Big prawn noodles, Kway chap and Carrot cake. This centre is relatively airy compared to other food centres. So, tourists who love to be away from the overcrowded venues can head to the Zion Riverside Food Centre with no second thoughts.

Chomp Chomp Food Centre

Also called the Serangoon Gardens Food Centre, the Chomp Chomp Food Centre offers a wide range of local dishes. Pork, chicken, beef and mutton satay can be ordered here. Unlike other hawker centres, this place fulfils the requirements of the late night diners. Starting at 6 PM daily, it operates till late at night. Travellers should keep in mind that the Chomp Chomp Food Centre can get very crowded at times.
