A beach in Goa has been recommended as being one of the best in the world by a top travel magazine.

According to Conde Nast Traveller, Palolem in the southern part of the Indian region makes the list because it is a great place to relax and soak up the sun.

The article describes the beach as “a beautiful crescent cove” and suggests that it may be ideal for people to head this year in order to forget the recession.

Thanks to its colonial history, Goa is different from many other parts of India and has attractions including picturesque churches and delicious local cuisine, the magazine attests.

It is also well known for its sunny climate and European feel in tourist, coastal areas.

For anyone with time to spare this month, holidays to Goa were recently recommended by the Nation Travel as being good for April, since the weather will be hot but it is before the official tourist season starts, so it will not be too crowded.
