Princess Eugenie is slumming it like the rest of the world when it comes to her gap year, it has been revealed. The royal, who is sixth in line to the throne, is staying in a beach hut in Goa that costs £13 a night.

However, there is one clue to her identity – the two bodyguards who follow her everywhere.

The princess checked in under the assumed name of “Lotty”, the Daily Mail reports.

A bartender, Sanjay Naik, said he did not recognise her, but that she blended in with the other gap year travellers, playing pool and drinking cocktails in the sun.

“We did not think for a minute that she was a British princess. She would lie outside on the sun-lounger for most of the day sunbathing,” he told the newspaper.
