New figures show more people are choosing to holiday in India.

More and more people are finding that India can be a great place to spend a week or two relaxing and enjoying the perfect holiday.

New figures from the Ministry of Tourism show that more people visited the country last month than in July 2011 and in the first six months of this year 3.7 million people landed on India soil from overseas.

That is a huge 6.6 per cent rise over the corresponding period 12 months ago.

It is not surprising so many people are flooding into India.

Not only does the country provide different types of holiday for every taste – be it the luxury of Mumbai, the beauty of Goa or the vibrancy of Delhi – it is also very welcoming to overseas tourists.

The legendary Indian hospitality has been coupled with modern-day tourist schemes and the combination is too enticing for many – as the stats prove.
