Tourists visiting Goa will find the watersports industry to be much better regulated this season, with more information and help available for visitors.

New regulations have been introduced in Goa to ensure visitors enjoying such activities get a fair deal.

These new measures being put in place for the tourist season include ensuring watersports firms operate their equipment in line with safety rules, while new ticket kiosks will be set up.

As well as providing points of sale, these will also ensure the collection of fees and double up as police counters and sources of tourist information.

Another change will be that watersports operators will be obliged to close at 18:30 or sunset each evening, whichever is sooner.

People catching flights to Goa may find all this ensures they are safer and better informed when visiting the area and taking part in watersports, while the presence of the police means they will know where to go for redress if something does go wrong.

Goa’s beaches are some of the most famous in India and highly popular with tourists.

Among those recommended by travel experts are Colva, Baga and Anjuna.
