Big names from the world for music and Bollywood are set to attend the opening of the Indian Premier League in Chennai.

Some of the biggest names from the world of music and Bollywood movie stars are all set to attend the opening ceremony for the latest series of the Indian Premier League cricket.

Taking place in Chennai, the opening event is set to be a star-studded event, with Katy Perry announced as the main performer.

The singer will showcase a number of her biggest hits and has already spoken of her excitement of performing for India for the first time.

“I know that everyone in India has waited for a very long time for me to come and perform professionally. I’ve enjoyed India on my own time personally and now it’s time to give back to the fans,” Perry said.

The event will also see appearances by Priyanka Chopra and actor Salman Khan, with the whole evening to be overseen by superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

Chennai’s own Super Kings are set to take on the Mumbai Indians in the first game of the new season, which opens on April 4th.
