Darjeeling, West Bengal

As you reach Bagdogra airport on your flight from any major Indian city, you will have to take a taxi to take you to Darjeeling, approximately 4 hours away. Gangtok, Sikkim

The breathtaking natural beauty that dominates the entire northeast can be seen in abundance in Gangtok, the capital of the Indian state of Sikkim. Travelling up to Tsuklakhang Royal Chapel and Monastery via  Deer Park (modelled on Sarnath), as well as visiting the Secretariat and unique Orchid Sanctuary with its 600 species of orchids are some of the best experiences awaiting honeymooners. If you and your partner are both nature lovers, take out time for visiting the Yumthang Valley, also known as the ‘Valley of Flowers’. Shillong, Meghalaya

When you are travelling to the ‘abode of clouds’, literal translation of ‘Meghalaya’; you can count on the monsoon to show you some of the most picturesque sights of your life. The whole city comes alive with rarest of greens visible all around and gushing waterfalls making for a dramatic backdrop. Take a boat ride on the beautiful Ward Lake with your partner or visit the Lady Hydari Park with its Japanese gardens for moments of serenity and absolute peace. You cannot leave the city without witnessing a glorious sunset at the Shillong Peak.  For those inclined, Shillong also has a vibrant music scene.
