Goans celebrate in Bangalore at their annual carnival.

Bangalore celebrated the annual Goa Carnival over the weekend showing that international festivals are a key draw for people with cheap flights to Bangalore.

The Goan community in the city is strong and the annual carnival is always a spectacle to behold.

While the carnival is one of the biggest events in Goa itself, the celebration in Bangalore is sizeable and brings together people from across the city.

Organised by the Karnataka Goan Association (KGA), the event boasted flamboyant costumes, exciting music and a huge array of culinary delights.

Dancing and singing were also rife as bands and performing artists took the stage for an entire night of celebrations.
There were five floats in total covering all age groups from the under-10s to the over-60s – and each float had a theme.

The headline act for the evening was A26 – who arrived from Goa just before the festivities kicked off.
