Flights to Delhi remain the easiest way to see the Taj Mahal.

One of India’s great tourist attractions is the Taj Mahal, despite the fact that the monument to love is located in Agra – a city that is hard to get to for the international tourist.

To remedy this, plans for a new airport in the region have been drawn up, but they are having problems taking off.

Rediff reports that a top government official in Lucknow said that having a large airport near the Taj would threaten its unique and serene atmosphere.

“We have therefore hired a consultant to suggest an alternative site that would be free of all hurdles around Taj, that draws the highest number of international tourists,” he added.

However, it is easier to see the wonder of the World than ever before since the Yumuna Express way was constructed.

The toll road cuts the journey time form Delhi airport down by 50 per cent, meaning that visitors can arrive at Agra within two hours.
