Dubai’s annual Urban Desert Festival is to take place this April, in news which may interest hip-hop fans on holidays to Dubai.

According to the event’s website, it aims to bring together funk, R&B and hip-hop through performances by international artists and DJs.

Those in attendance at last year’s festival included Akon, Fat Joe and Black Violin.

There is also a two-storey suspended bar and a graffiti wall to entertain visitors between sets.

“Urban Desert will move you and give you the platform to express yourself the way you thought you couldn’t,” the website states.

Urban Desert is to be held at Dubai’s Festival City from April 18th.

David Beckham is known to be a fan of hip-hop and has previously holidayed in Dubai, so festival attendees may want to keep an eye out for the footballer.

An article in the Business Times this week recommended holidays to Dubai as being a unique experience that is sure to be swathed in luxury, particularly for those who stay in one of the city state’s seven star hotels.
