Holidays to South Africa have come highly recommended by one travel writer, who suggested that Cape Town in particular might be a great place to unwind for anyone stressed out about the credit crunch.

Yoon Chul, writing for the Korea Times, said that the scenery all over the country is “blessed” and magnificent, with Table Mountain being a highlight in terms of beauty.

Visitors should also take the opportunity to look round the safari parks in order to see big game animals up close, he said.

“If you want to get away from the polluted air between skyscrapers and forget stressful work, South Africa is one of the best places for a peaceful, clean rest,” Mr Chul added.

Cape Town was also recommended this week by Scottish Sunday Mail travel writer Mickey Mcmonagle, who said that the city is now his favourite destination and that it is also excellent value for money.
