The forthcoming Easter special – a four-part series – sees the Time Lord abandoned in the deserts of an alien world, where he and his assistant are chased by monsters called the Tritivores.

It is to be the last outing for David Tennant’s doctor, since he will hand over the role to Matt Smith soon afterwards.

Former Eastender Michelle Smith will also make a temporary appearance in the show, as his assistant, but she has dispelled rumours that she is about to take on the position full-time.

Anyone wanting to follow in Tennant’s footsteps could take holidays to Dubai and go dune buggying in order to check out the deserts that made the location.

Ashley and Cheryl Cole are soon to jet off to Dubai in order to renew their wedding vows, it was reported this week.
