Dubai boasts plenty of art and culture
There’s so much art and culture to soak up on a holiday in Dubai that you may very well need to come back next year to properly enjoy everything!
The emirate’s official tourist authority, Definitely Dubai, explains that there is so much more to the luxury Middle Eastern location than architectural landmarks and shopping malls (although they are on offer as well).
Dubai is proud of its cultural and artistic heritage, with plenty of events, exhibitions and activities taking place throughout the year.
At the Dubai International Art Centre, you’ll find a great gallery and library, while the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre – or DUCTAC for short – boasts a modern art gallery, great dramas, contemporary dance shows and music performances from national and international performers.
In July, the highlight of DUCTAC’s summer season will be a special run of Cats, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s much-loved musical hit.
In the art centre, visitors can check out works by the likes of Simon Coates, Ephrem Solomon, Khwala Darwish and Mona Fares. Through the Artists in Residency programme, you’ll also be able to watch as works of art are created in front of you.
