Shopping centres in Dubai are attracting visitors with live events

Shopping in Dubai is often a memorable occasion that people travel all over the world to experience.

The malls in the emirate are packed with luxurious and high-end stores that have extremely desirable goods, while the local markets present the perfect opportunity to have a barter and bag a bargain.

But the shopping centres also offer plenty of entertainment for those who are not interested in designer goods.

There are 20 major retail centres in Dubai and they are going all out to attract shoppers by providing events and shows to entertain them while they peruse the malls.

This has been particularly prominent during state-wide festivals such as Dubai Shopping Festival and Dubai Summer Surprises.

“As a result of all the live entertainment and in-mall promotions, we enjoyed a ten per cent increase in retail sales and a ten per cent increase in the total malls’ footfall,” Mirla El Masri Heisser, the corporate communications manager for Mercato Mall and Town Centre Jumierah, told The National.
