The Emirates Sunland Group, a partnership between Emirates International Holdings and Sunland Group, also explained that construction of the new resort is on target and is now 81 per cent complete. It is expected that the development will be fully open before the end of the year.

Arabian Business reported that managing director Soheil Abedian stressed that the current economic times have been difficult but the ambitions project of a residences and a luxury hotel are set to be a success.

Those taking flights to Dubai on a regular basis could be tempted to purchase one of the few remaining 169 private apartments or stay in one of the 217 hotel suites that have been designed and decorated with items from Versace’s Home range.

The Dubai property will be the second Palazzo Versace resort and there are plans for a further 13 worldwide.
