Anyone going on holidays to Dubai soon may wish to try out a round of golf, after one of the emirate’s courses was named as among the best in the world.

The Els Club golf course was voted to be Best New International Course, as well as a finalist for the general International Courses charity, after research by Golf Inc magazine.

It was chosen thanks to its design, which the judges described as well thought-out and well executed.

Ernie Els, a professional golfer, said: “The Els Club at Dubai Sports City is a golf development that will stand up proudly against the best in the world for decades to come.”

The news comes after Dubai was judged to be Golf Destination of the Year at the recent International Golf Travel Market awards, which took place in Marbella.

Anyone looking for flights to Dubai to practice their swing will be pleased to know that Emirates offers such services.
