A new eco development in Abu Dhabi is being promoted to leisure travellers by Etihad Airways.

Emirati airline Etihad Airways has added Masdar City to its Essential Abu Dhabi online travel guide, suggesting Brits on flights to the UAE discover this new green development.

Masdar aims to be one of the world’s most sustainable cities, with residential buildings using half the amount of energy of the UAE norm.

Furthermore, 30 per cent of the electricity and 75 per cent of the hot water used in the development is provided by solar power.

As well as green innovation, Masdar offers plenty to attract leisure travellers, including several restaurants and an organic supermarket.

Etihad’s Essential Abu Dhabi guide can be collected within seven days of your arrival in Abu Dhabi, with several special offers included.

In this way, passengers on flights to Abu Dhabi can enjoy savings on hotels, tour operators, dining out, shops, adventure parks, cultural attractions and sports facilities.
