More people are going on holidays to Dubai in order to experience the city’s 14th annual shopping festival, it has been reported.

A number of hotels in the emirate city have said that their room occupancy rates have shot up in conjunction with the event, which began on January 15th and will run until February 15th.

A number of hotels and most shops offer discounts during Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) and a number of special parades are to take place over the coming weeks in celebration of the festivities.

Hosni Abdul Hadi, manager of Carlton Towers hotel, said: “With DSF events happening everywhere, it is very attractive to visit the city and its activities this time of the year.”

California’s Best Syndication recently suggested a number of hotels that people on holidays to Dubai could stay in, including Atlantis the Palm, the Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa, the Burj Al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach.
