Dubai is becoming a top destination for people looking for luxury private healthcare, it has been claimed.

According to the National, more western people are now getting on flights to Dubai in order to beat hospital waiting lists and get cheaper procedures.

The Jebel Ali Hospital is one such boutique treatment centre, offering corporate packages, chauffeur services and suites to pamper those checking in.

“Boutique means providing exceptional care and quality of medical services in a striking relaxing ambience. The levels of expectation here are much higher than elsewhere. Dubai offers more than basic hospitality,” said Dr Prem Jagyasi, Lifeline Healthcare’s group director.

A healthcare conference is to be held in the city in November in a bid to increase awareness of Dubai as a hub for medical tourism.

Dubai is becoming a hotspot for the rich and famous, with a number of celebrities including soap star Verity Rushworth pictured holidaying there in recent weeks.
