The Emirate city of Dubai has been heralded as a fantastic destination for families by one writer who recently travelled there.

Debra Solomon, writing for the Age, said her four sons loved the wide range of activities available in Dubai, including theme parks, water parks and desert adventure tours.

She said it is a city with good old-fashioned family values, but futuristic entertainment, making it ideal for impressing young children while keeping them safe.

The writer pointed out that most hotels have kids’ clubs, while staff everywhere cannot do enough to make sure children are happy.

“Let’s face it – when your children are happy on holidays, so are mum and dad. Abracadabra! Your wishes can be granted in Dubai,” Ms Solomon concluded.

Anyone keen on shopping may wish to book holidays to Dubai in time for its annual shopping festival, which is to take place from January 15th until February 15th 2009.
