Dubai is set to become the dance capital of the Middle East this weekend with a major annual show taking place.

Dancers performing a range of global styles will strut their stuff this weekend at the annual Sharmilas Annual Dance Show, which opens tonight at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre.

More than 200 performers of all ages will be showing off their passionate Latino, soul, Indian and hip hop moves as part of the two-day event.

Dance-loving Brits are encouraged to book their flights to Dubai now to get a piece of the action, as there will also be group pieces choreographed by Sharmila Kamte.

Furthermore, there will be a wide range of international performers taking part including British hip hop dance specialist Elise Bailey and Italian Chantal Brocca.

The event will then move on to Abu Dhabi’s Heritage Theatre next week (April 20th), giving visitors on a holiday to the UAE a second chance to catch this toe-tapping show.

Tickets are on sale now with prices starting at Dh125 (£21) for adults and Dh100 for under 18s.
