Sports fans have been given the green light to buy tickets for this year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Motorsports fans may be rushing to book flights to Abu Dhabi today (April 28th), as tickets for the UAE Grand Prix have gone on sale.

Eager Formula 1 fans can get a 20 per cent discount on all tickets bought before May 31st for the penultimate race of the season, Emirates 24|7 reports.

Following the sell-out success of last year’s event, tickets for the 2011 race, which will take place from November 11th to 13th, are expected to go quickly.

This year’s Grand Prix coincides with the 40th anniversary of the UAE, with special celebrations being laid on as part of the National Day festivities.

The cheapest tickets start at Dh 4,250 (£685), the same as last year, while the best seats will set you back more nearly four times that amount.

Richard Cregan, chief executive officer of Yas Marina Circuit, where the race will be held, said: “Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is already an established part of the UAE’s sporting and social calendar.”
