Calaway Park
One of the largest family amusement parks in Canada, Calaway Park has several rides and games that people of all age groups can enjoy. There are two biggest attractions in this park known as The Dream Machine and The Vortex.
Devonian Gardens
This is a large indoor park and botanical garden in Calgary. Located on the Stephen Avenue pedestrian mall, Devonian Gardens are completely enclosed by glass and remains one of the most interesting places for the entire family. You can enjoy walks here, check out the ponds full of Koi and other fish, and admire the fountains!
Fort Calgary
This wooden fort was built in the year 1875 at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers. There are several guided tours offered here that will reveal a lot about the history and culture of Calgary. It is easily accessible from the downtown.
Peace Bridge
This pedestrian bridge was designed by a Spanish architect named Santiago Calatrava and links Canada and the United States at the east end of Lake Erie. The bridge is open to cyclists as well as pedestrians for crossing the Bow River.
Nose Hill Park
This natural environment park is situated in the northwest part of Calgary. Covering a huge area, it is the largest urban park in Canada and has large reserves of native fescue grasslands.
