Thrill-seekers looking for a new experience on their holiday to Perth are now able to combine their passions for the Outback with motorsport in a new safari experience, it has been announced.

A new Outback safari tour will follow the Australian version of the Paris Dakar rally and will offer visitors the chance to experience a fully guided tour of the Outback while sharing the “exhilaration of a fast-paced international motoring event”, WesternAustralia.com explained.

The event will allow visitors on holiday in Perth to follow the precise route of the competitors in the 5,000-kilometre Australasian Safari, through “rough and ragged terrain” and the “dramatic landscape”.

Each night, the tour group will meet up with competitors at the overnight safari camp.

The tourist board explains that the route is kept a secret until the night before each section of the race – which begins and ends in Perth.

Dates will run between late July and early August and guests also have the option of hiring a motorbike to follow along.
