The Royal Easter Show has opened in Sydney and will be offering entertainment across the holiday weekend and beyond.

The Royal Easter Show in Sydney has opened for the long Easter weekend and is set to offer a variety of exciting events to entertain all members of the family.

While the event opens in time for the Easter weekend it runs well into the month, finishing on April 18th.

It is expected more than 900,000 people are set to attend across the two-week festival, which showcases a huge number of farmyard animals.

As well as letting kids get up close with the wide range of animals showcased, there is also a large fairground and a number of other attractions that will entertain people of all ages.

One of the most popular parts of the annual festival is picking up one of the showbags, which are put together to appeal to everyone, whether they are a sports fan or have a sweet tooth.

Filled with a number of goodies, they are often discounted far above their market value.
