A new search engine has named the Sunshine Coast as the most popular location in Australia.

A new search engine that specialises in finding caravan and holiday parks has announced that Queensland’s Sunshine Coast has been the most sought after destination in Australia during the past few months.

Since Turu’s launch in July, Queensland destinations have made up a quarter of all searches, with the Sunshine Coast being the most clicked-on region within the state – making up 20 per cent of all searches within the region.

As well as an obvious appeal from people wanting to book flights to Brisbane and Queensland, the Sunshine Coast was also popular with Aussies.

“It is no surprise, with the warmer weather up north, that although 30 per cent of our audience was from Victoria, only 13 per cent of search listings for the month were for Victorian areas,” said Robert Gallagher, general manager of the site.

The Sunshine Coast is packed with great beaches and is also home to a number of other popular tourist attractions such as Aussie World, UnderWater World and Australia Zoo.
