One Direction are already proving to be a big hit in Australia, as a concert in Melbourne sold out in minutes.

A concert by the British boyband One Direction looks set to be a huge hit with their fans in Australia, as tickets sold out in a matter of minutes.

The group, who were out together to take part in the 2010 series of The X Factor, put tickets on sale for their show in Melbourne.

However, the group has already amassed such as following in the city that the gig sold out in just three minutes.

The group are planning to play one show in the city on April 16th at the Hisense Arena as part of a short tour in the region, as they will also be performing in Sydney and New Zealand.

With demand for the tickets so high it is though the group will be making a second trip to the country in order to play more shows in larger venues.

A number of stars are being attracted to spend time in Melbourne recently, with Dita Von Teese also announcing she is planning to spend a week in the city after appearing at its forthcoming Fashion Festival.
