Australian pop star Kylie Minogue is to sing at a celebrity-studded party to celebrate the opening of the Atlantis, The Palm resort, in news which may be of interest to those going on holidays to Dubai.

Although the resort opens to guests on September 24th, the launch party will be held on the man-made island on November 20th, it has been widely reported.

The 90-minute performance, which could include songs like Can’t Get You Out of My Head and Wow, will mark Kylie’s first ever concert in the Middle East.

She will perform in front of famous faces including the Dubai royal family and, it has been rumoured, David Beckham.

A huge display of fireworks will provide the climax to the event.

According to the Times, the new Atlantis resort will boast a spa, 17 restaurants, a water park, an aquarium and bedrooms which look through windows into the lagoon outside.
