Travellers booking a holiday to Australia will be spoiled for choice when it comes to accommodation and hotels in the south, Southaustralia.com has announced.

According to the tourist board, holidaymakers flying to Australia may wish to stay at the “red hot” Southern Island Lodge on Kangaroo Island.

“No other luxury lodge offers such splendid isolation, dramatic wilderness, uninterrupted horizons and the most incredible cool ocean breeze, loaded with oxygen and energy that comes straight from the Antarctic,” said lodge owner James Baillie.

The hotel was named on Conde Nast Traveller’s 2009 Red Hot List, which features some of the planets best new accommodation.

Greener tourists may be interested in the new Tanonga Eco Lodges on the Eyre Peninsula. Powered by solar energy, using filtered rainwater and benefitting from complete insulation, the lodges also offer the highest quality in luxury accommodation with a wood fire, a Japanese-style bath and king-size beds.

The Eyre Peninsula boasts some 2,000 kilometres of coastline where travellers can cage dive with great white sharks or swim with sea lions.
