The majority of people experience their best-ever holiday at the age of 34, it has been claimed.

This was the conclusion of a survey carried out by Kuoni, which averaged out the age of respondents, then studied their holidays and how much they enjoyed them based on written reviews.

It was found that 34 was most likely to be the age when people were satisfied with their trips.

Martin Conway, an expert on memory from the University of Leeds, said this is the age when may people are thinking about “nesting”.

“They are either likely to be enjoying those last holidays without children or perhaps taking their young children on a first holiday abroad,” he pointed out.

One respondent, Kate Green, said she particularly enjoyed holidays to India at this age, travelling through Kerala by bus, boat and elephant along the way.

Flights to India are available through Etihad, among other airlines.
