The actress is due to star in The Railway Man, to be filmed on location in Thailand.

Holidaymakers booking flights to Thailand next year may want to keep their eyes peeled for a few famous faces, as Rachel Weisz and Colin Firth could be on location in the country to film The Railway Man.

The movie – based on the autobiography of Eric Lomax – tells the tale of the capture and torture of Lomax during the second world war, when he was sent to work on the death railway in Burma, Variety reports.

Shooting is due to begin in February 2012 in Thailand, the UK and Australia, with Weisz playing Lomax’s wife Patti and Jeremy Irvine cast as the younger version of the author.

People catching flights to Thailand in the future may wish to take a copy of The Railway Man with them as a holiday read. It is available in paperback form, can be downloaded on an e-reader or bought for audiobooks in cassette format.
