Singapore Airlines has been named as Best Airline in the third year of the Ultratravel 100 awards.

Readers of the Telegraph voted the carrier the best luxury travel airline in the 2009 awards, announced today (May 19th).

“Only two things in life can be certain: death and taxes. Surely to that we should add a third: that Singapore Airlines will always be high on the list of the best airlines in the world,” wrote Graham Boynton for the newspaper.

Noted for being at the forefront of development within the aviation industry, the airline claims to have the widest flat beds in business class travel, double-beds in its first class suites and now offers more space and entertainment options for economy class travellers, he continued.

Mr Boynton went on to say that combined with faultless Asian hospitality and gourmet-style dining, it was not surprising that Singapore Airlines had won the award.

Singapore Airlines offers flights to India, Australia, Thailand and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, among many others, from the UK.
