Taking a trip on the Indian Maharaja – Deccan Odyssey is one of the top ten travel tips this year, according to one company.

A travel company has released its ten best holiday tips for the coming  year, including an “inspiring” train journey through India.

Number six on its list is booking a place on the Indian Maharaja – Deccan Odyssey, India’s first privately-managed luxury rail service.

Departing from Mumbai and finishing in Delhi, passengers will be taken on a trip “through the heartland of the Maharajas and Moghuls and rekindling the heritage, history and grandeur that was once the preserve of these regal emperors”.

Titan Travel pointed out that tourists can visit the Amber Fort in Jaipur and take a safari through the Ranthambore National Park in search of tigers as part of the itinerary.

At the beginning of January, the Daily Telegraph picked the tour as one of the top things to do in 2010 and commented that holidaymakers can experience India’s sights and sounds “cocooned in comfort”.
