The city of Mumbai has been described as India’s “sexiest” and “most cosmopolitan” destination.According to travel writer Terri Judd, Mumbai offers a variety of benefits to travellers and provides the traditional “hustle and bustle” of India.

Writing in the Independent, she explained that people taking flights to Mumbai may also be able to take advantage of lower air fares during the current season, especially as the south-west monsoon period ends.

Ms Judd also recommends holidaymakers visit some of Mumbai’s leading attractions, including the Sasson Dock to watch the fisherman bringing in their latest catch.

Holidaymakers are also recommended to take a walk through the Mumbai Port Trust Gardens and take a trip to Elephanta Island.

Mumbai may also be an ideal destination for shoppers. The city has a number of markets, with bargain shops found on the Colaba Causeway and Fashion Street, while more expensive treats are available near Breach Candy and Kemps Corner.
