Jet Airways has entered a codeshare agreement with United Airlines.

People booking flights to India with Jet Airways could now find that they have more options when it comes to onward connections from the country. This is because the Indian carrier has entered into a codeshare agreement with United Airlines, allowing passengers to board connections in London for destinations in the US.

Among the cities that the new arrangement will serve are Chicago, San Francisco, Washington and Denver.

People booking flights to Mumbai and Delhi from London will also be able to make use of the route offered by United Airlines.

In addition, onward connections from Mumbai will be offered to Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.

Nikos Kardasis, chief executive officer of the Indian company, commented: “We are delighted to partner with a carrier of the global reach of United Airlines to help Jet Airways enhance its connectivity.”

Earlier this month, the airline revealed that it had increased its international passenger traffic in May by 36.5 per cent, compared with the same month last year.
