The Indian-based carrier Jet Airways has been awarded a prize for its services in customer and brand loyalty.

The airline took home the accolade at the Indian Loyalty Awards, making it the second victory in as many years for the firm.

It was judged to be the best in the consumer category after votes from people who had used Jet’s services were taken into account.

Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, chief executive of Jet Airways, said the carrier has become a ‘formidable brand” thanks to “the warmth of its service and quality of its in-flight product”.

This month has also seen Jet introduce a number of new services, including flights to Mumbai via Kuwait.

Jet operates flights to 64 destinations, including Bangkok, Dubai and many destinations in India.

In October 2008, it was given the accolade of one of the top three airlines in the world by readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
