Jet Airways has begun daily flights to Delhi and Mumbai from Colombo. The carrier believes the new flights using Boeing 737-800s will help link India’s two main hubs to Sri Lanka and increase onward international travel to other destinations in Europe, North America and the Middle East.

Flights to Delhi will depart Colombo in the morning, with the return flight leaving Delhi in the early afternoon.

The new connection to Mumbai will be a late-night service and will provide a direct flight to India‘s main financial city.

Sudheer Raghavan, chief commercial officer of Jet Airways, said: “Jet Airways is delighted to provide direct links from the financial and the national capital to the Emerald Isle, which is fast emerging as a highly rated global tourism destination.”

The carrier recently announced plans to form an alliance with South Africa Airways, so that the two airlines could sell joint tickets on flights to Mumbai from Johannesburg.
