Dubai-based Emirates recently launched the world’s shortest scheduled A380 service from Dubai to Doha. As per the airline press release, the distance of 379 kilometres was covered in 1 hour and 20 minutes from Dubai to Doha, and 1 hour 10 minutes on the return journey.

Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport in Doha, the flight was welcomed by key officials and trade guests at an Emirates reception at the terminal. Adil Al Ghaith, Emirates’ Senior Vice President Commercial Operations, Gulf Middle East and Iran and prominent members of the UAE business community travelled on the flight from Dubai.

Flight EK 841 departs Dubai at 0745hrs and arrives in Doha at 0805hrs. The return flight, EK 842, departs Doha at 0950hrs, landing at Dubai airport at 1200hrs. The new A380 service will ensure that travellers flying to popular destinations like New York, London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Manchester, Dusseldorf, Milan, Paris, Rome and Amsterdam enjoy a seamless A380 service.

Emirates runs nine daily flights to Doha, making it the most served destination in the airline’s network. Catering to the strong demand on the route, the airline has carried well over 3.5 million passengers over the last five years.

Emirates A380 service to Doha has a three-class configuration, with 429 seats in the Economy Class on the main deck, 76 flat-bed seats in Business Class, and 14 First Class Private Suites on the upper deck.

A380 is the world’s largest commercial aircraft and has proved to be extremely popular with travellers worldwide. Currently, Emirates has 87 A380s in service and 55 pending delivery. The carrier currently operates the A380 to more than 45 global destinations.
