Emirates has announced it is to get the new year off to a flying start by hosting a sale.

Travellers planning on taking flights to Dubai in the new year could be interested to know Emirates is planning to host a sale.

The airline has stated it will be reducing the cost of some of its flights for the first time ever, for people who book their tickets from now (December 30th 2011) to January 9th 2012.

Customers can save as much as 25 per cent on the cost of first, business and economy class tickets when flying to more than 100 destinations around the world.

Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ executive vice president for passenger sales worldwide, said: “There has never been a better time to experience the award-winning product and onboard service which has made Emirates Airline of the Year in 2011.”

Some people could be planning to take flights to Dubai in order to travel on to Melbourne, as the carrier recently announced it would be serving the Australian city with the new Airbus A380 aircraft.
