Matthew Williamson has described the penthouse in the Atlantis hotel in Dubai as ‘the most glamorous hotel room ever’.

Fashion designer Matthew Williamson has named the penthouse in Dubai’s Atlantis hotel as the most glamorous place he has ever stayed in.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Williamson describes the room as “utterly decadent”.

Although he only spent 24 hours in the suite, it clearly made an impression. He said: “A gold mosaic lift takes you to your room, which has more marble than you can imagine. There are even peacocks in the courtyard outside.”

The UK designer opened a store in the Dubai Mall earlier this year and has celebrity fans including Keira Knightley and Mischa Barton.

Williamson revealed that he takes as many holidays as possible, adding that he is out of the country at least once a month.

The Atlantis resort promotes itself as “a dazzling world of imagination, pleasure and luxury”. In addition to a hotel boasting more than 1,000 rooms, the complex also features its own marine aquarium, water park and spa.
