The Happy Mondays, Echo and the Bunnymen and the Wombats are set to play Dubai Sound City, according to its organiser.

The first raft of artists set to take to the stage for Dubai Sound City in November has been revealed by the event’s organiser.

Writing on his Virtual Festivals blog, David Pichilingi announced that seminal Manchester band the Happy Mondays will treat the eardrums of travellers on cheap holidays in Dubai.

Representing talent from the north of England will be Liverpool bands The Wombats and Echo and the Bunnymen and Mancunians the Doves.

Pioneers of psychedelic rock Super Furry Animals and eighties outfit the Human League will also be on hand to provide some quality entertainment.

Taking place from November 5th to 7th, indie rockers on cheap holidays to Dubai will no doubt pencil sound city into their diaries.

This news comes after Mr Pichilingi announced last week that the warm-up event, scheduled for Thursday October 1st, will be headlined by former Stone Roses front man Ian Brown.
