A new holiday guide produced by Glasgow Airport will highlight the wide choice of overseas destinations available for travellers. The hub was named as the best airport at the Airport Operators Association annual awards and offers flights to Dubai and other destinations such as Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.

Airport managing director Amanda McMillan said: “From America to Africa to Asia, Glasgow Airport offers more long haul destinations than any other airport in Scotland, making it easier than ever for holidaying Scots to discover the world this winter.”

She added that 2010 had been a difficult year for the industry but partnerships with local organisations could help to ensure an improved 12 months in 2011.

A total of 10,000 copies of the new guide will be available throughout the Glasgow area at locations such as hotels, bars, restaurants and tourist attractions.

Both Emirates and Aer Lingus/Aer Arann operate flights to Dubai from Glasgow Airport.
