Cricketer Andrew Flintoff has offered some recommendations of places to go and things to do on holidays to Dubai.

Families booking flights to Dubai may be wondering what activities will  await them once they reach the sun-drenched country.

England cricketer Andrew Flintoff has offered some of his tips about how to spend a break with the children in the emirate in an interview with the Daily Telegraph.

For people seeking sand and sea, he recommended heading to Jumeirah Beach. He pointed out that there are lots of things to do, especially water sports and plenty of places to eat and drink.

Another tip for anyone who wants a change from the sunshine is the indoor ski slope at Ski Dubai in the Mall of the Emirates, Flintoff advised the publication.

Families who are feeling adventurous may also want to spend a night camping in the desert.

Flintoff told the newspaper that he had tried it with his eldest son: “It was only 40 minutes inland but it felt like the middle of nowhere,” he explained.

One of the Dubai’s latest attractions is its Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

The observation deck on the skyscraper is located on the 124th floor of the 800-metre-high tower and promises panoramic views across the city
