September could be the best month of the year for people to take flights to Perth, Sydney and elsewhere in Australia, it has been suggested.

Australian Visa Bureau director Guy Bradley made his comments after the organisation published figures indicating that a record 187,696 Australian working holiday visas were issued.

The body suggested that the numbers for this year are likely to be similar as the ongoing effects of the recession impact the UK’s economic climate.

Mr Bradley stated: “September is the start of spring in Australia, the perfect time to start an Australian travel adventure.”

He said that taking time to visit Australia is a great thing to do as the country offers opportunities for adventure, freedom and relaxation.

“Australia means freedom,” the sector commentator concluded.

Australian accommodation is seemingly dropping in price, too, as recent figures from Hotels.com indicate that room prices in a number of the country’s cities have fallen in recent months.
