People booking holidays to Australia this year may be able to attend a performance by a local musician who is touring the country to promote its red centre.

Anyone planning holidays to Australia in 2010 could bump into a local musician who is travelling the country to promote the Northern Territory.

Jess Ribeiro and her band, the Bone Collectors, will be travelling to a range of cities and towns around the country to encourage tourists to visit some of the state’s attractions.

Every year, Tourism NT runs events designed to raise awareness of the country’s central state among travel agents in the region.

This year, the tour is based around the theme of untold stories and Jess’ band are the perfect accompaniment, minister for tourism Malarndirri McCarthy said.

“The Bone Collectors are inspired by an ancient myth about a spirit being who wanders the desert collecting bones and singing them back into creation which compliments this year’s theme,” she explained.
