Airline will assist competitors with their travel needs at the International Surfing Association’s World Masters Surfing Championship

American Airlines has been named the official airline partner of the 2012 International Surfing Association’s World Masters Surfing Championship.

The carrier, a founding member of the oneworld airline alliance, has signed up to back the event held in Nicaragua from July 14th until 22nd.

As the premier surfing competition in the world, thousands of fans of the sport from around the globe are expected to descend on the Playa Colorado in the town of Tola.

“American Airlines is a global company, connecting people from many different cultures and communities,” said Peter Vittori, American Airline’s managing director of passenger sales for Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America.

“This event helps to connect surfers and surfing fans throughout the world.”

Staff from American Airlines will be on hand throughout the championships to help competitors with their travel needs.

American Airlines and its associated carriers serve 260 airports in more than 50 countries across the world, including Australia and India, operating more than 3,500 daily flights.
